In Feng Shui, it is considered that all objects have two faces. It is just like the positive and the negative ends of a magnet, Feng Shui believes that Good/evil go together, light/dark go together, heaven/hell are together and similar things are said for angel/demon, love/hate and poverty/wealth. The interdependence of all these are mentioned through Yin and Yang. Yin and Yang work on the principles of infinity, duality, polarity and balancing of energies.
Yin is represented by a female body: physical body, cold, weak, earth, night, and Yin make a man passive, indirect and negative. It also represents the moon, water and coldness.
Yang represents the male energies: the soul, heat, strength, sky and day. Yang represents the sun, the birth of something, dryness, active and direct energy.
Yin and Yang are represented through a symbol, which was used in fourteenth century B.C. and symbols were found on oracle bones. The duality and the balance of white and black portions of energies can be seen clearly on the oracle bones.
The external part of the Yin Yang represents universe and the two halves that resemble the tails of a fish or tear drops, show the energies are in constant motion. The two halves of the Yin Yang symbol have two very small circles inside the main circle, which represents the eyes of a fish or the seeds or origin of the energies. The small black eye is the origin of the white and white eye is origin of the black half. This shows that nothing in the world is complete black or white. Everything has two faces.
In every house, Yin and Yang should be balanced. Yin is basically a circle, which has no border and it is just moving or evolving to the next phase. The circle of Yin and Yang never ends and it shows that energies are not ending; instead, it just evolves to the next phase.
The Yin and Yang = Flow of energies: Yin is to push out the energies and Yang pulls the energy in. The movement of two energies create “chi”. To balance the positive and negative energies of a house, is the most important aspect of Chi energy philosophy.
In Feng Shui, it is said that Chi lives in everything and it is basically the energy, which has two opposite forces Yin and Yang. Yin is for female forces and Yang is for male. If you can balance both the negative and positive energies together, you bring the earth and heaven together, which is the harmony, you have to attain in your life to live peacefully and happily.
Chi moves in the form of water to reach earth and then it goes into plant life to form wood, which later becomes the earth, to finally become the metal, which can collect water from the heaven.
