Future of ERP Software

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend

Enterprise Resource Planning is commonly preferred application software across all the industries. Most of the medium scale companies have been trying to adopt ERP these days. We expect all the small and medium scale companies will go for enterprise resource planning software in near future. It has become a buzz word now-a-days. All the business owners are planning to implement either client server based or web based ERP to streamline their business process.

Web based ERP applications have become more popular these days as they are more flexible in terms of price and implementation. We can notice some trends in ERP if we look at starting from the enterprise resource planning evolution. There have been some constant changes happening in the enterprise resource planning industry. In early 1990's, there were only big companies who used to implement enterprise resource planning and the trend has changed in the late 90's and early 2000. After this most of the medium scale companies have tried to implement enterprise resource planning software and the ERP vendors also have designed separate applications for small and medium scale business environments in a cost effective way.

Present days, it is the trend of web based software and software-as-a-service (SaaS). Web based software are also called on-demand ERP software. Almost all the major companies have come up with the web based software purely because of the competitive pressures and to tap the small scale companies. All these vendors have been effectively serving the small scale sector with the help of web based ERP applications.

The future of the Enterprise Resource Planning is looking pretty fascinating. Hopefully almost all the small and medium scale companies would look for the ERP applications. It is expected that the vendors will come up with the various applications to serve the small scale sector. The vendors have to change the strategies to tap the small and medium scale market by offering various types of applications in a cost effective manner.

The future of the ERP application mostly depends on the small and medium scale companies. There are lots of companies who have not yet implemented enterprise resource planning system across the globe. If vendors effectively tap the small and medium scale sector by educating the business owners, the growth rate of ERP market will be pretty promising in the future. Indeed, the growth rate would multifold in the future.

Software-as-a-Service based software has created revolution in the market. Most of the medium scale companies are tending towards implementing the web based application. ERP software is a must for all the manufacturing companies these days. There is a lot of competition in the industry among the companies. So, it is must for the companies to follow the best practices by implementing the enterprise resource planning. Enterprise resource planning implementation is going to be stretched across all the industries in future. The vendors have to come up with the innovative applications to fit into the budgets of the small and medium scale companies.
