Organization provides training to their employees to increase the knowledge of particular process, tools, etc. which gives better outcome from them. On the job training can fill areas of gaps with knowledge and skills, and change all negative attitudes into positive attitudes. It also improves performance and productivity of employees, and profit of the organization.

Proper on the job training fulfill organizations long term goal and quality objective. In the training, organization focuses to adopt zero defect culture. One of the most important objectives of on the job training is to encourage innovative and creative ideas of employees for optimum use of materials.

There are some guidelines for trainers for on the job training. Trainer should explain the reason, importance and benefits of training to all trainees. He should make the training session interesting by doing regular interactive activities and explain each step or process with example in detail. All instructions should be planned, clear, understandable, complete and well-prepared. He should encourage questions to know the knowledge and interest of trainees. He should focus on discussions and questions on problem areas at the end of training session. Using charts, graph, models, stories, booklets, and slides will give clear better understanding. Trainer should take attendance in the beginning of the training session.
